For an old chick this whole blog thing is quite novel, but I guess I will start the process.
Just a bit of information from the office - we have been really busy post conference with lots to do to start the next one, so keep your eyes on our website for updates!
Over the Christmas period, the office will be closed on Friday 19th December 2008 and will reopen on Monday 5th January 2009.
I will be going on leave for six weeks from 5th December (last day) and returning on Monday 19th January. Seems like a long holiday, but it has been a hard 9 months and I need all my strength to fight the funding battle again next year.
By the way, we now have three new staff members. Introducing (although many of you know her) Anne-Marie Borchers, who starts on 6th November as our long awaited Business Manager. Anne-Marie will be looking at the commercial possibilities for CRANA. Then there is (in no particular order), Colleen Niedermeyer, who will be taking over the BCL admin from Linda, who is leaving us for greener pastures (literally) in NSW, and Laura Nelson, who will take over from Sue in the FLEC office who is also going to NSW with her family.
Unfortunately Robyn Gracie has resigned as the coordinator of the Bush Crisis Line. We wish her well in her new endeavors and will be advertising that position in the next week or so.
Goodbye and thanks to those leaving and welcome to those who are just beginning.
Also, as this website is now very new with a lot of bells and whistles, members need to know that there is a forum section which can be accessed either via the webpage or directly through http://forum.crana.org.au
That’s all for now ñ please join in and take a good look at the new site. We have kept it simple for outback speed of download but it is quite awesome ñ comments are welcome.

Dear Carole
I think the new-look website is great! I would like to encourage CRANA members to utilise this, as valuable information and comments could be shared with all.
Many thanks for your gallant efforts and hard work in 2008 - it is very much appreciated.
Please take care during your holiday, rest well, and I am sure you will return refreshed and refueled for 2009!
Kind Regards
Dear Carole
I note in your blog about the departure of the coordinator of the Bush Crisis line. I would be interested in knowing a little more about the position when it is advertised. Thank you
